    The Trip

In the south of the Philippines there is a green island that boasts some of the best waves in the country: welcome to Siargao! Popular with surfers thanks to its legenday Cloud 9 break, Siargao has been until recently one of the ‘hidden’ gems of the Philippines, a laid-back, lovely island that offers much more than just waves: rock and cave pools blessed with the bluest waters, thick mangrove forests, and gorgeous islands all around. Awarded in 2018/19 for being the best island in the world, Siargao has seen a surge in development, that luckily hasn’t change its low-key, easy going vibe. This is the perfect place for a solo (and not only) holiday mixing surfing with yoga and some serious beach relax.

    Your time in Siargao

This stunning island, almost entirely covered in coconut palms, is a little paradise of white sand beaches, perfect waves, pristine coves, sparkling blue rock pools, waterfalls, epic island hopping, caves and lagoons. You will hardly find a better environment to treat yourself to a self-love holiday.

You could easily spend a month here, the vibe is that good! But since this is not feasible for everyone, we highly recommend to take at least 1 week (but better 2!) to explore and give yourself a chance to fully get into this yoga+surf retreat.

Unlimited yoga classes, individual surf lessons or surf guiding sessions – depending on your skill sets – and a few adventures around the island will make this time away on your own some of the best you’ve ever had!

In between catching waves and finding your inner balance, we would love to take you:

Island hopping between three tropical islands of brilliant white sands, incredibly blue waters and lots of palms all around. Naked Island, Daku Island and Guyam Island are very close to Siargao and offer colorful reefs to snorkel and incredible water to swim in.

Sugba Lagoon and Kawhagan Island, two more tropical-dream-come-true sort of places: Sugba is surrounded by mangrove forests and has some of the most vivid blue water we have ever seen! You can jump into the water from the 5m and 10m diving board, or get on a kayak, stand-up paddleboard or bamboo raft for some exploring. Kawhagan Island has a glistening white sandbar surrounded by incredibly transparent water and a beautiful coral reef, you’ll hardly find a better place to float on your back.

Cliff jumping and swimming through small caves in the tidal pool at Magpupungko Rock and the rock pool at Tayangban Cave.

Gorgeous Sohoton Cove in Bucas Grande: expect to be left speechless at the beauty of this place. Incredible views, transparent turquoise water, stingless jellyfishes, forest clad karst mountains jutting out of green pools of water – Sohoton might easily be one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen in the Philippines!

Itineraries and activities can all be custom-arranged for you, please let us know how we can help.

    The Place

Lotus Shores is the only dedicated yoga retreat in the Philippines, a place to manifest, expand, and get barrelled.

The way of life at the retreat is arranged to support Self discovery through the practices of Yoga. The diversity of classes and offerings are scheduled in a way that follows the natural rhythms of the mind-body, creating an opportunity to immerse and become steeped in this way of being. Every day, there is a a minimum of four classes , each with a different focus: yang and yin movement, pranayama, meditation, sound healing, kirtan, etc. This allows for a year-round immersion program, that any person of background or level of practice can begin, at any time, starting for a minimum of three days.

Preserving as much of the natural landscape, the retreat features large gardens, open spaces and architecture inspired by a combination of traditional and minimalist styles. The dedicated spaces for practice – Durga Temple and Yoga Dojo – and communal areas  – Kali Ma Vegan Cafe & Restaurant – hold a grandeur that leads the mind towards the infinite. The comfortable and minimalist interior of the accommodation inspire clarity of mind and and the inward turning of one’s awareness.

Accommodation goes from shared room to private villas.
