The Archipelago

Phuket Island - the ArchipelagoPhuket is not only rich of sights and activities but it is also surrounded by several smaller islands, each easily accessible by boat and offering unique sights.

Many of these islands offer beautiful snorkelling and diving sites, while others simply give you the chance to spend a quiet day on a snowy white beach.

Accommodations are available on some of the islands - few of them are very exclusive.

Racha Islands

The Racha islands are located about 20 km south of Phuket and are well known as excellent diving and snorkelling destinations.
Two beautiful bays are nestled in the coast of Racha Yai: Ao Tawan, which is bigger, and Ao Siam. Both feature white sand beach and turquoise clear water perfect for snorkeling.
Inhabited only by a small community of quiet Muslim farmers and fisherman until recently, Racha Yai now offers a number of fine accommodations: a tropical hideaway ideal for a romantic holiday.

Racha Noi is a smaller and uninhabited island. It has no services or accommodation, but it offers some great diving spots. However, going underwater here is suggested only to experienced divers: in fact, depths are greater and currents much stronger than in its bigger twin island.

Koh Naka Yai and Naka Noi

Cast onto the east coast of Phuket, Naka Islands embody everyone’s fantasy of a tropical paradise: sandy white beaches and crystalline waters overlooking on the breathtaking scenery of the Phang-Nga bay.

Inhabited only by small fisherman communities until recently, Naka Yai (the bigger island) offers now a range of luxurious accommodations, ideal for those seeking an exclusive and romantic escape.

Maphrao (Coconut Island)

On the east coast of Phuket, Maphrao is a peaceful island of fishing villagers offering some agro-tours and homestay accommodation. Besides the beauty of its wild beach, Maphrao is blanketed by a mangrove forest that can be explored by boat.

Rang Yai Island

A small and inhabited island offering a wide range of activities and some camping spots.

Koh Khai Nok

A tiny island just off the east coast of Phuket, Kho Khai Nok is surrounded by coral formations and completely covered by a forest.

Maiton Island

Maiton IslandMaiton Island, known by many as Honeymoon Island, is a small, beautiful and private tropical paradise. In fact, the whole island is own by a boutique resort catering exclusively to honeymooners.

Koh Lone

Nestled in the middle of the Chalong bay, Kho Lone is a quite and beautiful island hosting a few nice, upscale resorts.

Koh Bon

Just off the shore of Rawai, Koh Bon is a virtually private island hosting some of the best resort and spas in Thailand.

Koh Kaew

Visible from the Phromthep cape in Phuket, Kho Kaew is a tiny island that seems to have been untouched by tourism and resort operations.
